In the rubber industry, metal soaps are used as processing aids. In many cases, they also affect the quality of the final products significantly. Metal soaps are primarily used as lubricants and mastication agents, improving both the production and processing of the compound. With the help of metal soaps, producers can reduce processing temperatures, improve flow properties and utilize dispersing properties.

 

Furthermore, metal soaps are also used after the production of the actual compound in further processing. After calendaring, metal soaps in powder form can be perfectly employed as a release agent in powder machines or in a water bath. They prevent non-vulcanized rubber sheets from sticking together. The residues are completely absorbed later in the vulcanization process.
